Scottish Vodka
Puffing Billy Steam Vodka is an unfiltered malted barley vodka, named for the rare still which plays a key role in its production.
Made at The Borders Distillery in Hawick, they begin by pot-distilling spirit from locally-grown barley. They then re-distill it into vodka using 'Puffing Billy', their specially-commissioned Carterhead Still. The spirit is then steamed smoothed through charcoal inside the still itself which helps retain the flavour and texture of the locally-grown barley, which would be striped away through a regular filtration process.
It is the only vodka in the world made this way, and the result is full of character with an incredible creamy mouthfeel.
