To satisfy its many enthusiasts, even very limited official releases of Laphroaig are typically vattings of five casks or more. This single refill sherry butt reveals distinctive facets - worn leather, game and fig - alongside the distillery’s smoky, briny character: a more nuanced look at the spirit that underpins those official releases.
Tasting Notes - Dried fruit and mineral/smoke
Colour: Red walnut.
Nose: Hickory smoke, worn leather and fig cookie.
Palate: Roast partridge, liquorice spice and salted hazelnut.
Finish: Dried fruit, toffee and clove with a briny medicinal edge.
